Suzuki Hayabusa Information;

The Hayabusa is Speed in all its glory. But Speed is not all the Hayabusa is.

The Suzuki Hayabusa (or GSX1300R) is a sport bike motorcycle made by Suzuki since 1999. It immediately won acclaim as the world's fastest production motorcycle, with a top speed of 188–194 miles per hour (303–312 km/h).

A remarkable feature of the Hayabusa engine was its abundance of power throughout its entire rpm band. The 1299 cc power plant was the largest and most powerful sport bike engine when introduced in 1999, and remained the largest until Kawasaki's ZX14 was released.

The Hayabusa's abundance of power at any rpm up to 11,000 made the Hayabusa easier to ride by giving the rider a greater choice of gear selection for a given speed and stunning acceleration. Downshifting is an option.

It features both water AND oil cooling radiators and adjustable suspension height & dampening.

The ram air ducts at the front of the drooping, rounded nose squeezed frontal area away from the headlight, and this, along with the need for a narrow frontal area, necessitated a stacked headlight and high beam behind a single lens. Moreover, the need to reduce the extreme drag encountered at high speeds determined the Hayabusa's entire bulbous, and much-criticized, bodywork design.

Top speeds of over 270 mph, engine outputs of over 700 horsepower, and performances in the standing quarter mile as quick as 7.125 seconds and as fast as 209.14 mph have been recorded by street registered Hayabusa motorcycles using standard-width (190mm) DOT-approved street-legal rear tires.

Wow! At Bonneville in September 2010 a twin engine Hayabusa streamliner exceeded 400 mph one-way while setting a new record at 376mph. They are now aiming at the outright land-speed record for piston engines including cars which is 417 mph.

Mine - Sort of makes you want to go for ride doesn't it.. This bike is an absolute JOY to ride between the times it terrifies you. It is a great cure for constipation.. Traction is the biggest challenge. My dirt tracking experience comes in handy often. It does a stunning 100mph in 5 seconds in 2nd gear- AND it has 6 gears. It accelerates fiercely in every gear. It is also renowned for great handling and braking. It is docile and easy to ride but mentally difficult to ride slow.
